A very talented all rounder, Eloise started playing and studying both the harp and singing from a very young age. She began her lessons at the age of nine and since then has trained as a soprano with teachers from both Guildhall School of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. At the age of 13 she won BBC Choirgirl of the Year and which led to her first professional performance with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall that Christmas. She later went on to Central School of Speech and Drama, where she gained a BA Acting degree.
Eloise enjoys singing a wide range of music, from oratorio and classical singing to jazz and musical theatre. She chose the harp because it was something completely different and she is constantly adding to her already vast repertoire by arranging and composing music for soprano and harp. Eloise interprets a wide range of styles for harp and voice, from the present day via musical theatre, light classical, jazz, and folk, right back to traditional Baroque music. Her usual programme includes a combination of light classical, traditional folk arrangements, musical theatre and contemporary. She is always happy to discuss the choice of music with her clients and will happily arrange a special piece on request. And, yes of course, she has a full show of Christmas songs and tunes.
Eloise is equally at home playing the harp with or without vocals making her performances incredibly versatile. She enjoys all types of engagements, playing her harp and singing at private parties, corporate events, weddings; both civil and church. She has even utilised both her musical and dramatic skills playing a actress/harpist in TV’s Holby City. She has also cruised with Swan Hellenic around the Middle East and India on which she performed her cabaret shows with vocal and harp, she has up to 4 different 45 minute themed shows, classical, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary popular.
Eloise is also an established soprano, having performed with Tenebrae and with the LSO conducted by Sir Colin Davies, sung as a soloist at the Royal Festival Hall with the BBC Concert Orchestra and recorded a CD with them which included her own composition for voice and harp. She has featured as a soloist in Sunday Half Hour, Good Morning Sunday, Friday Night is Music Night, Daily Service and Songs of Praise. Her numerous recordings include that of soloist and as a part of Howard Goodall’s Enchanted Voices on the Christmas CD “Enchanted Christmas”, the recently released “Pelican In The Wilderness” which led to her performing at the Classical Brits at the Royal Albert Hall and Eric Whitacre’s US and UK chart topping “Light and Gold”. She has also recorded a variety of Big Band, Classical, Beatles and Gospel numbers for SingLive UK and at Abbey Road, for the ERA series, ‘Prince of Persia’ and ‘Shrek - Forever After’. She reached the final 20 in the BBC “How do you Solve a Problem like Maria?” and performed at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sydmonton Festival.
